Original content is unique at times on the Internet, yet should be the norm instead of the rarity. Most freelance writers reading this will not be the ones that need to know the importance of why to compose original content, but the facts might get read by some who can benefit from this communication in some way.
Original material does not become the writer's property just by copying, pasting, spinning and putting a name on that article. The person that is doing that action is as aware of that as they are of the food they just took off the fork and put into their mouth. It is as known as the clothes they have on their body even though they don't know the manufacturer of that fabric.
Computer plagiarism is rampant on the Internet very simply because it is as easy as moving the mouse, clicking and publishing an article in your name. Since there is a way to make money without much work, people steal compositions or parts of them, then label with their own name without much thought. Thieves and burglars have that mind set. These robbers that go into the homes steal what does not belong to them and never hesitate how long it took the person they are taking from to acquire that possession. Computer plagiarism is literary fraud by cutting, pasting and putting the name of the crook on it instead of the rightful owner. Someday there will be a way to force people to do the right, moral, ethical and legal actions, yet as of now attempts at doing that have fallen short.
Many reputable websites encourage only original material. The search engines try to cut down on illegal writers not submitting original content with what they are able to install as software. Accounts are edited for new clients to cut down on plagiarism or spinning, yet the fact remains those are ineffective methods too. Plagiarism detectors and checkers are readily available to Internet webmasters, yet even when notified by account holders of the illegal writing techniques some people chose, the accounts are still active and thriving.
Original content is composed in many ways. When these are chosen, a sense of pride develops for the person who has contributed their efforts to other Internet subscribers to be read. The thieving of content from someone else violates that original owner's possession which is in the written form. Self respect is the most important reason original content should be submitted on the Internet. Some illegal actions are not found out immediately, but will be at some point discovered with that Internet writer's integrity compromised since original content was not submitted.

Roberta, I am back to give you a well deserved vote up and a tweet.
A week ago I have encountered a problem in relation to this one, not speaking any further though because the memory is still fresh and still annoying. I learned my lesson though. Good article as always Roberta.
Roberta, your article is more important than you know to all online writers. i am bookmarking and tweeting this one. Great job.
An insightful overview about writing online and the proliferation of plagiarized content, Rob. I don't publish often so I'm not finding original content an easy money for doing my homework like I was back at school. However when my article gets published, I get a sigh and realized how uplifting it is to see my work on the web being read by many compared to a mere homework back in my school days where only my teacher has the access to appreciate and judge myself through my writings.
Valuable share...and a must read for all writers! Good jog here. Thanks for posting...voted
Lately, Factoidz has been dinging me for not composing original articles even though they were not spun. They are my college research papers. It has left me gun shy about submitting more of my school research material. Thank you Roberta for shedding light on this for me.
